Before Stowley

  • You know the unit is rented, not what's inside it
  • Chasing cards by hand every month
  • Every retrieval is a phone call and a trip to pull boxes

With Stowley

  • Item-level contents for every unit
  • Rent auto-charged on the due date
  • Clients book their own retrievals

Billing that runs itself

Set the rate once and recurring invoices generate and auto-charge the card on file the day rent is due. Late accounts surface on their own, so you stop spending the first week of every month chasing payments.

Clients retrieve without calling you

Clients sign into a private portal, browse their own items by photo, and request a retrieval in a few taps. Your front desk stops fielding 'can you grab my…' calls and just fulfills the queue.

Every box photographed and logged

Each item is logged with photos, dimensions, and an exact warehouse → zone → aisle → bin location. Anyone on your team can find any client's box in seconds instead of walking the floor.

Built for self-storage & valet storage

Every capability below ships in Stowley today — no add-ons, no roadmap promises.

Know what's in the unit, not just who rents it

Catalog every item with photos, dimensions, and a warehouse → zone → aisle → bin location. Any box, any client, found in seconds.

Rent that collects itself

Set a monthly rate per client, keep a card or bank account on file via Stripe, and let recurring invoices generate and auto-charge on the due date.

Past-due accounts surface on their own

Invoices flip to past-due automatically. Aging buckets and outstanding totals sit on your dashboard — no month-end reconciliation.

Retrievals without the phone call

Each client signs into a private dashboard, browses their own items, requests a retrieval, and messages your team — without tying up your front desk.

Scan in, scan out, from a phone

Print QR labels in bulk and move items in or out with any phone camera. No barcode hardware, no separate scanner app.

Invoices that carry your name

Custom invoice templates with your logo and colors. On Enterprise, the portal and emails are white-labeled end to end.

Ship-outs handled inside the request

When a valet client wants items shipped rather than picked up, rate-shop carriers and buy the label inline through the built-in ShipStation integration. Tracking and label PDFs attach automatically.

How it works

  1. 1

Photograph and log items at intake

Bulk-add items with photos, condition, and a bin location.

  2. 2

Set the monthly rate and auto-charge

Save a card on file and let recurring billing run.

  3. 3

    Clients request retrievals themselves

They self-serve in the portal; your desk stays free.

Frequently Asked

The questions operators in this space ask us most often.

Will Stowley charge my clients every month on its own?
Yes. Clients save a card or bank account via Stripe, and recurring schedules generate invoices on your cadence and auto-charge the saved method on the due date.
Do you track units, items, or both?
Both. Items live in a warehouse → zone → aisle → bin hierarchy, so 'unit 204' is just one location label — you can track contents at the item level even for a single-unit renter.
What happens when an invoice goes unpaid?
It flips to past-due automatically when the due date passes, and aging buckets (0–30, 31–60, 61+) surface on your dashboard so you chase the right accounts first.
Can clients see only their own things?
Yes. Every client gets a private portal scoped to their items, with their own gallery, retrieval and inbound forms, and a direct message thread with your team.
Do we need barcode scanners or special hardware?
No. Stowley uses QR codes printed on standard label stock and scanned with any phone camera — no app to install for staff or clients.
