The best valet storage software in 2026

Four platforms valet and on-demand storage operators actually run on, compared on the things that decide the purchase: item tracking, pickups and returns, the customer portal, billing, and price. We make one of them, and we have tried to be fair about the other three.

How to choose

Four questions that pick the platform for you

Units or items? If you rent storage units and valet is a side service, start with a self-storage platform that has a valet module (Storeganise, Stora). If every box, crate, and chair needs its own record, photo, and rack location, start with an item-level platform (Stowley), or a catalog app if you only need the list (Sortly).

Who is the customer? Consumers who find you online and want to book a pickup without talking to anyone need public self-serve booking, which Storeganise and Stora do well. Businesses, designers, galleries, and collectors you already know need an invited portal scoped to their own items, which is how Stowley works.

How do you bill? Per unit per month fits self-storage platforms. Per item, flat monthly, or per hundredweight, prorated to the day and auto-charged, is Stowley's model. If the platform has no billing at all, as with Sortly, you will be running invoices somewhere else.

What else do you do? If valet storage is one line in a moving, white-glove, fine art, or 3PL business, the platform should handle the rest too: deliveries with proof, condition reports, shipping labels, multi-client inventory. That is where the four diverge most.

The platforms

The four platforms

In the order we would evaluate them for a pure valet operator. Prices and features come from each vendor's public pages in October 2026.

1. Ours

Stowley

Best for: Valet operators who bill per item and also do deliveries, moving storage-in-transit, white-glove, fine art, or 3PL work.

Price: $69, $199, or $399 per month; annual from $49; Enterprise custom.

Stowley is an item-first operations platform. Crews photograph and label items at the curb from a phone, rack them to a warehouse, zone, aisle, and bin, and set the rate. Clients log in to a portal that shows only their items, request pulls and deliveries, pick delivery windows, message the team, and pay. Storage bills on a monthly day with daily proration and Stripe auto-pay. Condition reports, damage maps, and proof of delivery live on the item.

Strengths

  • Item records with photos, QR labels, locations, and condition history
  • Client portal with requests, messages, documents, and payments; white-label on Premium and up
  • Per-item, flat monthly, or per-hundredweight billing with Stripe auto-pay
  • Condition reports, damage maps, and item-by-item proof of delivery
  • Opt-in text updates, ShipStation labels, multi-client 3PL inventory
  • Flat published pricing, no setup fee, month to month

Limits

  • No public self-serve booking; you invite clients to the portal
  • No route optimization and no access-control or gate integrations
  • Not a self-storage unit manager
  • Recurring billing, white-label, and reports start on Premium ($399/mo)

2. Compared

Storeganise

Best for: Valet operators whose customers sign up and book online, and self-storage facilities adding a valet service.

Price: Quote; their calculator samples about $90 per month at the small end.

Storeganise is the established platform for valet and self-storage. Customers create an account and place their first order in one flow, keep a photo inventory of their items, and schedule returns from a customizable portal. Operators schedule collections and drop-offs, assign drivers, manage routes, and charge per item, per box, or by volume, with billing through Stripe or Mollie. Pricing follows locations and units, and the exact figure is a quote.

Strengths

  • Public get-started flow: account and first order in one step
  • Item catalog with photos and bulk status updates
  • Collections and drop-offs with driver assignment and routes
  • Per item, per box, or by volume billing with automated invoicing
  • Customizable portal wording and branding; API available
  • No setup fee; two onboarding calls included

Limits

  • Priced by locations and units; exact quote on request
  • Add-ons and the marketing website may cost extra
  • Multi-client business inventory, condition reports, and shipping labels are not listed
  • Unit-centric features go unused for a pure item operator

3. Compared

Stora

Best for: Self-storage facilities that want a valet booking flow alongside unit rentals.

Price: Not published; plans start at 50 units; onboarding fee varies.

Stora is self-storage management software with a website and online booking at its core. Its valet guidance describes an end-to-end booking in minutes, upfront payment for pickups, and recurring storage charges that run automatically, with smart-entry integrations for the facility. It is positioned as the back-office platform for an operator adding valet, and its own guide points to third-party tools for routing.

Strengths

  • Website and online booking included on every plan
  • Automated payments and recurring charges
  • Smart-entry integrations, public API, dynamic pricing on Advanced and up
  • Strong fit when units are the main business

Limits

  • Unit-based; pricing starts at 50 units and is not published
  • Onboarding fee that varies by requirements
  • Item photos, driver tools, and route management are not described for valet
  • Valet is an extension of a self-storage product, not the center of it

4. Compared

Sortly

Best for: Very small valet operators who only need a photo catalog of what is in storage.

Price: Free; $49, $149, $299 per month; Enterprise custom.

Sortly is a general-purpose inventory app: folders, photos, QR and barcode labels, low-stock alerts, custom fields, offline mobile access, and native iOS and Android apps. It is quick to set up and cheap to start. It has no concept of a customer who owns an item, no customer portal, and no invoicing, so a valet operator pairs it with a spreadsheet and an accounting tool.

Strengths

  • Free plan for 100 items; Advanced at $49 per month
  • QR and barcode label generation and scanning
  • Offline mobile access and native apps
  • Fast to learn; good for a small team

Limits

  • No customer portal, invoicing, or payment collection
  • No client ownership of items; folders and tags only
  • Item caps of 100, 500, 2,000, and 5,000 by plan
  • No pickup and delivery scheduling

FAQ

Frequently asked

What is valet storage software?
Valet storage software runs an on-demand storage business: the operator picks items up from the customer, stores them, and brings them back on request. The software has to catalog each item (usually with a photo), know where it sits in the warehouse, schedule pickups and returns, give the customer a way to see their items and request them, and bill a recurring storage fee. Self-storage software, by contrast, is built around units the customer visits themselves.
What is the difference between valet storage software and self-storage software?
The core record. Self-storage software tracks units: who rents which unit, move-ins, gate access, and unit-based pricing. Valet storage software tracks items: what each thing is, where it is racked, its condition, and which customer it belongs to. Storeganise and Stora come from the self-storage side and add valet. Stowley starts from the item and never had units.
Do I need public online booking?
If your customers are consumers who find you online and want to order a pickup without a phone call, yes, and Storeganise or Stora is built for that. If your customers are businesses, designers, galleries, or collectors you already know, an invited portal where they see their items and request work is the better fit, which is how Stowley works.
How much does valet storage software cost?
Storeganise and Stora price by units and locations and quote the exact figure; Storeganise's calculator samples about $90 a month at the small end. Stowley is a flat plan at $69, $199, or $399 a month ($49, $149, $349 on annual billing) depending on item caps and features. Sortly runs from free to $299 a month, but does not include billing or a customer portal, so budget for those separately.
Can I switch platforms later?
Yes, as long as the platform you leave can export items and customers to CSV, which all four can. Stowley's importer matches columns loosely, previews every row, and loads open balances as starting-balance invoices. Switching is an afternoon of work for most valet operators, not a quarter.
Which option is best for a moving company or a 3PL that also does valet storage?
Stowley. It is the only one of the four that also handles storage-in-transit vaults with per-hundredweight billing, white-glove deliveries with proof of delivery, multi-client 3PL inventory with per-client portals, and ShipStation labels, so the valet line of business shares a system with the rest of the operation.
