An Extensiv alternative sized for a small 3PL

Extensiv 3PL Warehouse Manager is the mid-market standard: EDI, hundreds of cart integrations, structured implementation, and a quote. Stowley trades the enterprise layer for a setup you finish in a day, published pricing, and a client portal your accounts actually open.

Why operators look

Why small 3PLs look for an Extensiv alternative

Extensiv 3PL Warehouse Manager earns its position. It is built for third-party logistics from the ground up, with per-client billing automation, a customer portal, EDI and API connectivity, SmartScan mobile scanning, a small-parcel suite, and an Integration Manager that connects Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, eBay, and hundreds of other channels. Over 1,500 3PLs run on it, and a dedicated customer success manager comes with the subscription.

The friction for a smaller operator is the shape of the deal rather than the product. Pricing is not published; it is quoted against order volume and facilities. Onboarding is a project with an expert, a tailored configuration, and a go-live. For a 3PL with 3 to 50 client accounts that stores, picks, ships, and delivers, that is a lot of system and a lot of process for the volume.

Stowley is built for that operator. Multi-client inventory and per-client billing are the defaults. QR labels print on standard stock and scan from any phone. Every client gets a branded portal. Shopify and Amazon orders flow in through ShipStation. The whole thing is a flat monthly plan you can read on the pricing page, and a new client is live in an afternoon.

Switching

Moving from Extensiv

Export customers and inventory from 3PL Warehouse Manager. The Stowley importer recognizes the export directly, matches any other columns loosely, and keeps unknown columns as custom fields so nothing is dropped.

Import clients first, then inventory; each item links to its client by name. Preview every row, bring open balances across as starting-balance invoices, and connect ShipStation on the Integrations tab so store orders keep flowing. Most boutique 3PLs are cut over in an afternoon.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Is Stowley a WMS?
It is a lightweight 3PL WMS. Receiving, putaway to warehouse, zone, aisle, and bin, pull requests with packing slips, shipping with ShipStation labels, per-client billing, and a client portal are all there. What it leaves out is the enterprise layer: EDI, wave planning, and integrations with hundreds of shopping carts. For a 3PL with 3 to 50 client accounts, that is usually the layer you were paying for and not using.
Does Stowley integrate with Shopify and Amazon?
Through ShipStation. When you fulfill a client's Shopify, Amazon, or other store orders in ShipStation, Stowley picks up every label, creates the completed shipping request, checks the shipped SKUs out of that client's stock, and flags anything it cannot match. There is no direct store connection, and ShipStation needs its Standard plan or above for an API key. Extensiv connects to carts directly through its Integration Manager.
Can I bill each client with different rates?
Yes. Each client has its own recurring billing schedule, storage rate, and payment method on file. Storage fees generate automatically and auto-charge via Stripe on Premium and up; handling, pulls, and postage with a markup go on as invoice lines. Aging and past-due tracking happen per client. Extensiv's billing automation is broader, capturing per-transaction charges across many event types.
What size 3PL fits Stowley?
From a single shared warehouse with a handful of clients up to multi-warehouse operations with 50 or more client accounts. Item caps are 1,000 on Basic, 5,000 on Advanced, 15,000 on Premium, and unlimited on Enterprise. If you run thousands of parcels a day with retailer EDI, Extensiv is the right category.
Can I move from Extensiv to Stowley?
Yes. The importer recognizes Extensiv 3PL Warehouse Manager exports directly and matches any other spreadsheet's columns loosely. Import customers first, then inventory, preview every row, and bring open balances across as starting-balance invoices. Most boutique 3PLs are cut over in an afternoon. If you would rather not touch the export, send it to us and we load it.
How does pricing compare?
Extensiv does not publish 3PL Warehouse Manager pricing; quotes are scoped to your operation. Stowley publishes flat plans: Basic $69, Advanced $199, Premium $399 per month, Enterprise custom, with annual billing from $49, $149, and $349. There are no setup fees on Basic, Advanced, or Premium, and plans are month to month.
